Quoting software for tilers.
A tiling price is really two prices: the tiling, and everything that has to happen before a tile goes on. TradeDraft is built so the second one is on the quote instead of in your own time.
What goes under the tile
Levelling compound on a floor that is not flat. Backer board. Priming. An electric underfloor heating mat. Every one of them is hours and materials before the first tile, and every one is its own line in the rate book.
Left off a quote they do not disappear — they just come out of what you keep.
Wet rooms, and saying what you did
Tanking a wet area is a priced item on the document, so the customer can see it was done and what it cost. That is worth having on the record: it is the part of the job that is invisible the moment it is finished.
Square metres, mitres and the awkward ones
Wall and floor tiling by the square metre from your rates. Mitres and cut edges by the metre, because they are time. Large-format tiling carries its own line, because it is different prep, different adhesive and often a second pair of hands.
The rate book keeps all of it, so the next bathroom starts from your numbers rather than a blank page.
The margin, while you can still change it
While you price, the app shows what the job costs you, what your day rate has to recover and what is left. If the price stops covering the first two it says so before you send it, not after the customer has accepted. More on the difference between markup and margin in markup vs margin.
What it has nothing to do with
It does not work out how many tiles you need, set out a pattern, or order materials. It prices the job, gets it accepted, prices the changes and invoices it.
Questions worth asking first
Can I price the floor prep separately from the tiling?
Yes. Levelling compound, backer board, priming and underfloor heating mat are separate items in the starter rate book, so the preparation is on the quote as its own money rather than absorbed into a square-metre rate.
Does it handle wet rooms?
Tanking is a priced line on the document like any other item, so the customer can see it was included and what it cost. TradeDraft prices and records the work; it makes no claim about the waterproofing itself.
How much is it?
£45 a month or £450 a year, flat, with no per-user charge.
