Terms & Conditions

If you accept this quotation within 30 days of the date of issue, the price is fixed. After that it lapses, and we will re-quote before any new price applies.
The price covers only the works and materials described above. Any additional or changed work will be quoted and agreed with you as a variation before it is carried out.
Where shown, VAT has been applied in line with current HMRC rules.
Payment is due by the dates set out in the Payment Terms above; the deposit secures your booking and start date. If you cancel within your 14 days we return your deposit in full — unless you asked us to start early, in which case we keep a share for the work already done, in proportion to the price of the whole job, and return the rest.
Work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill, meeting your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Materials we supply will be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
If we uncover something that could not reasonably have been seen when we quoted, such as rot, a hidden leak or unsafe wiring, we stop, tell you what we have found, and price the extra work for your approval before going on. If you do not agree the extra work, we make the area safe, agree with you how the job is finished or ended, and charge only for work already done and agreed.
We do not disturb material we suspect contains asbestos. If we find any we stop, tell you, and price any testing or removal for your agreement first.
Planning permission, listed building consent, party wall agreements and freeholder approval are not included. If any are needed we will tell you and agree who arranges them before work starts.
Please give us safe access to the working areas for the agreed hours, along with water, power and somewhere reasonable to store materials.
If severe weather, a supplier failure we could not reasonably avoid, utility works or serious illness delays the works, we tell you promptly, do what we reasonably can to limit the delay, and agree new dates with you. If the delay runs more than 14 days past the agreed date, you may cancel the work not yet done and we refund what you have paid for it.
When the works are finished we walk round the job with you and agree a written list of anything that needs putting right. That walk-round is Practical Completion: the works are treated as complete from that date, and any defects period runs from it. Agreeing the list does not mean you accept the work as free of faults: your legal rights stay in place for anything found later.
You have 14 days from the day you accept this quotation to cancel, without giving a reason. To cancel, tell us before those 14 days are up. Any clear statement is enough: a phone call, an email, or a letter to the address on this quotation.
If you ask us in writing to start work inside those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point, in proportion to the price of the whole job.
The 14 days do not apply to a new build, or to urgent repairs or maintenance you asked us to come out for. If on that visit we agree further work, or supply goods beyond the parts the repair needs, you can still cancel that part. Where you asked us to start early, the right to cancel ends once the work is finished.
